About this program

The After-school Active Play Club provides a unique opportunity for Grade 1 to 5 children to engage in unstructured play outside on their school grounds after the school day ends. Under the light supervision of an adult, children are free to explore, create, and interact, fostering their physical, social, and emotional development. The goal is to let kids be kids: run around, play, learn about themselves, their friends, and the world around them. After-School Play Clubs will help children move more, socialize and lessen their screen time. Children will meet their Active Play Leader in the Community Room (Room 114). The program takes place outside rain or shine so children should come dressed for the weather. How to register Apply for a Waitlist spot, In-Person , Online, or by calling us at 604.514.2940 Your application will be reviewed Once approved you will receive a registration confirmation and welcome letter Priority is given to children that have not yet attended Active Play Club. Children apply for each three month period separately. The program runs two hours after-school and includes a snack. Daily or weekly registration is not available. This program often fills up quickly. If children miss two consecutive sessions without notice sent to recprogrammers@langleycity.ca they forfeit their spot in the program.
