About this program

June Bernard is a proud member of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation and carries the Cree name Muskwa Iskwew, rooted in Red Nation. She has been blessed to travel to 26 countries, gaining deep appreciation for the richness and diversity of cultures around the world. She is a proud alumna of the University of British Columbia. Throughout her life, she has worked with a variety of organizations in roles of increasing responsibility and discovered her true passion: working with people. For the past 20 years, she worked as a real estate agent in Southeast Asia, building meaningful relationships across cultures. Though she has travelled widely, her heart has always longed for home. She has now returned, grounded in community, and honoured to share her presence as an Elder in Residence.
