About this program

Prerequisite: Bronze Medallion and must be 13 years old. Please bring proof of completion on your first day. Designed for lifesavers who want the challenge of more advanced training, including an introduction to safety supervision in aquatic facilities. Swimmers develop proficiency at performing patient assessments, managing aquatic spinal injuries and preventing loss of life in a variety of aquatic emergencies, while developing stroke endurance and fitness training skills. This is a Lifeguarding and Leadership training program. It is also worth two Grade 11 high school credits. Canadian Life Saving Manual is required (same manual that was used in Bronze Medallion). There is a non-refundable exam fee of $20.00. 100% attendance is required. Lessons are outside; we recommend applying sunscreen 30-minutes before lesson start time and/or wearing a rashguard.
