Come make art, meet new friends, and enjoy the playful freedom of collage! This hands-on, social workshop invites you to cut, tear, layer, and combine an unexpected mix of images and materials while chatting, experimenting, and having fun. Collage is one of the most generous and accessible forms of art-making. Your materials can be almost anything—from magazines, colourful papers and fabric to old photographs, postcards, tickets and treasures rescued from the recycling bin. Using scissors, glue, or simply tearing paper by hand, you’ll discover how easily everyday materials can be transformed into expressive and imaginative artwork. We’ll explore a variety of collage techniques, from recognizable imagery to abstract compositions, while learning about the fascinating history of collage and its evolution as an important contemporary art practice. Most importantly, this is a space to play, experiment, connect, and express yourself. No previous art experience is necessary. Individual guidance and encouragement are provided throughout, helping you develop your ideas and discover your own creative voice. Come sift through an abundance of images and materials, find your treasures, and see where your imagination takes you. All skill levels welcome!
