Creative Movement (ages 5-8)

About this program

Creative Movement: Dance, Play & Explore Participants will discover the joy of movement while exploring concepts like balance, body awareness, speed, space, shape, flow, direction, and more! Through imaginative play, music, movement games, storytelling, and the use of props and instruments, young dancers will explore how their bodies can move, express, and create. Participants will be encouraged to use their imagination to transform into elements of nature, animals, characters, and the world around them while developing coordination, rhythm, musicality, and confidence. Creative Movement supports children in building body awareness, personal space and boundaries, social connections, self-expression, and a positive relationship with movement.! Lissy and Rec staff will meet participants at the BICS Playgroung at 2:45pm and be at the Community Centre to meet our friends from other schools at 3pm *For children not yet in kindergarten, parents or caregivers must stay on site and are expected to participate if and when needed.
