An evening walk around Deer Lake provides a great opportunity to learn about bats and their important role in the ecosystem. As the sun sets, bats become active and begin flying around the lake and nearby trees to search for insects. During the walk, visitors can observe bats from a distance and learn about their nocturnal behavior, feeding habits, and importance to local biodiversity. Deer Lake’s combination of water, trees, and natural habitat makes it a suitable environment for observing evening wildlife. Adult participation is required for children under the age of 13 and is also welcome for older children. Please register separately. No fee required for parent accompanying the child.
