In this Village Vancouver Fairview - False Creek South Neighborhood Food Network workshop with Carly Hilbert, expand your canning capabilities with our pressure canning workshop. Learn how to safely preserve low-acid foods like meats, vegetables, and soups using a pressure canner. Key topics include: why pressure canning is necessary for low-acid foods, setting up and operating a pressure canner, understanding psi and processing times, preparing and packing low-acid foods, safety considerations and best practices, and troubleshooting common issues. Practice pressure canning your own jars and leave with confidence to can a wide variety of foods at home. Only $10 materials fee for seniors (50+). Registration only, no drop-ins.
