About this program

Lifesaving Instructor/Examiners are trained using a competency-based model that walks them through teaching and evaluation philosophy and the techniques/approaches required to teach water rescue, first aid and related aquatic skill. Instructors also learn about long-term and short-term planning, class management, safety supervision and evaluation principles. Lifesaving Instructor/Examiners evaluate and certify candidates in all items in Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross. Prerequisite(s) – 15yrs+ by last day of course and Bronze Cross. *Please note additional fees will be added at your time of purchase for the candidate fee and manual. A Pocket Mask is a required piece of equipment for this course (purchasable at the front desk of Sungod Recreation Centre, Ladner Leisure Centre, or Winskill Aquatic & Fitness Centre). 100% attendance is mandatory. Refund Policy: Withdrawal required one week in advance of course start date to receive a refund. If less than one week’s notice is given, no refund will be provided.
