About this program
This workshop is open to all ages. Whether you are an adult who enjoys making art, a parent, or a child, please join this creative workshop to imagine and make your own soft toy or fabric doll. This workshop is part of a series of art projects with Artist resident, Parvin Peivandi, that emphasizes creativity, sustainability, community engagement, and skill building. Each fabric doll tells a story and becomes a witness to our lives and memories. In this workshop, Parvin Peivandi will share her artistic practice and guide participants through the process of creating vibrant toys and dolls from recycled and reused fabrics. All materials are provided and include worn clothing, socks, yarn, fabric, string, and old plush toys. Participants will enjoy learning new skills while creating unique soft sculptures. The completed toys and dolls will become part of a final exhibition of community-created showcase.
