Wooden Hand planes are the first hand planes and still preferred by many including Japanese makers. They are relatively quick to make and open endless customization possibilities. Most users will tell you they prefer a wooden hand plane since it glides so effortlessly on the wood being planed. Make a pair of planes or just one – it’s entirely up to you. Wood is supplied however you must purchase your own blades. We will have competitively priced blades available for purchase. While it is not a requirement it is suggested that students have completed Woodworking Basics. Completion of this course does not satisfy admission requirements to use the Drop-in sessions. Bring pencil, notebook and ¼” square graph paper. No refunds within 7 days of course start date.
