About this program

Open to age 6 and 11, beginner violinists. The class will have a recital in the last class: Invitation to follow. Bring your violin to this small group violin class and learn to play songs with a professional violist performer, Tannaz. The children will learn to play different notes and build performance skills, to be able to play a solo piece as well as work as a group symphony. With over 20 years of teaching experience, Tannaz is a classically trained violinist and a singer with a Bachelor of Music degree. She is highly trained in the Suzuki Method, which is based on the belief that musical ability is not an innate talent, but a skill that can be nurtured through a supportive environment and proper instruction—much like learning a language. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in the idea that “a beautiful tone comes from a beautiful heart.”
