About this program
Whether fiction or creative nonfiction, standard prose or lyrical broken lines, narrative works have what are often deemed essential ingredients. Editor, writer, and associate publisher JJ Lee facilitate a workshop where writers learn to draft key story elements for their own work, refine them, and bring them to the page as scenes, exposition, and reflective/lyric passages. Plus students will have a chance to read their work to each other. Perfect for new writers who need the fundamental skills to compose their first draft. JJ is the editor of the nonfiction anthologies BETTER NEXT YEAR, UPON A MIDNIGHT CLEAR, and BETTER THIS YEAR. He wrote the memoir THE MEASURE OF A MAN: THE STORY OF A FATHER, A SON, AND A SUIT. For over a decade, he worked as a journalist at CBC Radio Vancouver.
