About this program
Participants This program is for children, teens, adults and seniors, who are Two Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bi/Pan, Trans, Queer or Questioning, Intersex, Agender + other orientation and gender identities (2SLGBQIA+). People outside that description are welcome when attending with a 2SLGBTQIA+ person. Children under 7 must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. No experience required, beginners welcome. Program Overview Join us to juggle, spin, twirl, flow, and play in an accessible, body positive environment. Program Leader This session is facilitated by a member of the Queer Inclusion Program Assistant team Plan Ahead Personal belongings can be brought inside the room. Please bring clean, non-marking shoes to wear in the gymnasium or go in sock feet. Ear buds or headphones if you wish to listen to music. Do not bring anything scented (body products, clothing with residue from scented laundry products or smoke), or any props that have been burned or fuel-soaked (even with covers). We provide hoops, juggling balls and clubs, poi, diabolo and more. Our space will have bright overhead lighting and natural light through large windows. In the winter months, these windows function as large mirrors if you want to watch your technique in the "mirror". Second floor washrooms are binary with "gender diverse people welcome" signage, and a single-user washroom is available between the binary washrooms. Second floor is accessed by stairs or elevator. Program Specifics This program is weekly on Wednesdays at 5:45-7PM in 1/3 of the gymnasium upstairs at Hillcrest Community Centre Free This is a drop-in program and registration is not required, but we encourage registration so we can contact you in the event that a session is cancelled.
