About this program
View Recreation's Refund and Financial Assistance Policies. Throughout this cosmic-themed week, campers will work together to create a large-scale Solar System model, exploring the planets, their movements, and our place within the universe. As they design and build their model, campers will learn what it means to be responsible explorers—curious, thoughtful, and mindful about how we study the skies. Campers will take part in activities that spark wonder about stars, planets, and galaxies. They’ll practice observing without disturbing, asking big questions, and imagining the future of exploration in a way that honours both science and stewardship. By week’s end, they’ll have a deeper appreciation for the vastness of space, the importance of exploration, and our responsibility to protect our own planet as we look beyond it. Our camps are predominantly outdoors, giving kids the chance to spend their days immersed in nature. Each week includes plenty of time swimming at the beach, exploring through unstructured forest play, and enjoying open-ended outdoor games. Campers also take part in safe, supervised off-trail adventures that encourage curiosity, confidence, and a deeper connection to the natural world. * OFF & ON ISLAND TRIPS: Science World, Grafton Lake & McMillian Space Station DROPOFF: Community Centre at 9:00am.
