About this program
Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival by learning to make traditional Hong Kong baked mooncakes from scratch. In this hands-on workshop, participants learn to prepare the mooncake dough and filling, wrap and shape mooncakes by hand, and press them into traditional wooden molds before baking. Three fillings offered: lotus paste, sesame, and milky custard, each with a salted egg yolk centre. Each participant takes home a box of freshly baked mooncakes, plus a recipe card to recreate them at home. Suitable for all skill levels — no baking experience required. All ingredients and materials provided. Led by Abraham Wong, a Hong Kong-born, Vancouver-based chef featured by CBC Vancouver for his Mid-Autumn mooncake teaching. Registration only, no drop-ins.
